Built in 1879, Springwood House was the former residence of Sir Arthur Percival Heywood, innovator of the 15-inch minimum-gauge railway and became home to Duffield Bank Railway.
Set in the valley of the River Derwent, Duffield is a picturesque, peaceful village that skirts the southern fringes of The Amber Valley.
In later years, the house was lovingly converted and has provided residential care to the elderly for over four decades.
The home comprises of 27 individual rooms, furnished to a style in keeping with the character of the house, with most having en-suite facilities.
